Zeca

Story: Zeca is a 6-year-old boy who came to us after being rescued from a situation of hoarding and abuse. Along with him came four other dogs, three of whom have already been adopted. Now it’s just Zeca and Mr. Bento, an older fellow who still needs some time to warm up. Zeca spent months keeping to himself until he was moved to a larger lodge, where his behavior transformed—he became friendly and visibly happy. Another sweet dog saved from a life on a chain, another who left behind abandonment to find shelter. He’s a little shy but lights up when meeting new people, adores the volunteers, and loves being petted. He gets along with all dogs and has a gentle, playful nature, often acting like a little clown. Despite adapting well, we noticed something off in his eyes. A visit to the ophthalmologist revealed he’s completely blind in his right eye and has very limited vision in his left due to old, irreversible damage.
