Story: Apolo is a gentle 11-year-old dog. He’s a big boy who might look intimidating at first, but his story is like so many others. Abandoned in Praia de Mira, he wandered the streets for a long time before finding his way to the shelter, where he’s stayed ever since. Like all animals, he has a survival instinct, and he’s learned that at the shelter he has food, water, safety, and people he can start to trust. Now, he happily comes over for cuddles, plays with the other dogs, and feels more at home—but he still dreams of having a family of his own. Sweet and affectionate, he may have a loud bark, but he wouldn’t hurt a fly. He gets along well with other dogs and walks nicely on a lead. He’s been waiting in the shelter since 2018.
