Castrations by MARKdierenarts
The best way to save a million dogs? By castrating one.
Do the math with me. Suppose a (street) dog has one litter per year for eight years, with an average of 6 puppies per litter, half male and half female. Then she would bring 48 dogs into the world over her lifetime, 24 of which are females. These 24 females would each also produce an average of 48 puppies (24×48=1152). Half of these (576) would also have 48 puppies. After three generations, we’re already at 576×48=27,648. Add the original 48 and the 1152 that were already there, and that’s 28,848! 14,424 of them would also have 48 puppies…

"Like a well-oiled machine, the MARKdierenarts team works all day long. In a week, they castrate an average of about 150 animals. On their flip-flops and in shorts. '24 more stray cats on the way!' it sounds through the hallway." – Flin Itz
